Art-based approaches combine creativity and psychotherapy, deepening the connection between mind and body to explore and express emotions, memory, and inner experiences.

They offer ways to be with difficult feelings, connect with the body as a resource, bring awareness to protective responses, and support a sense of possibility.

Creative expression has been used in cultural traditions, community care, and social justice movements as a way to remember and build collective resilience.

Who is this for? For those who are interested in approaching therapy creatively. No art-making experience is needed.

For many of us, learning to listen through our body can feel strange or overwhelming. Creative practices can offer a felt sense of safety, space to reimagine, engage with complexity, and to stay present with what arises.

Materials ( clay, paint, pastels, sand, rocks, paper, ink, fabric, soil ) support different ways of sensing and expressing. You might like to bring elements from nature or found objects into sessions too.
